The Plot Sickens is a place where words are written about words that are written. Published every Thursday by me, Zachary Messer, the creator of the aforementioned words. If you like books, insightful analysis, and a personal touch, this could be your favorite site on the internet. If you don’t, I understand, and am only slightly insulted, but will get over it. When do you publish these?

Generally Thursday mornings, unless something else comes up. You can check the notes section for more regular, shorter updates.

What books do you review?

Whatever I happen to have just finished for my own personal interest. I’m open to suggestions. I’m very open to receiving a gifted book to write about. I’m very, very open to being paid to review said book.

When did you start writing these?

Late 2024.

When did you start reading?

Late 1988.

Why should I subscribe?

Subscribing means you’ll get an email whenever I publish a new post, which you can then read in that email or on the site. It’s a nice way to remind yourself about this tiny corner of the internet. I also get a notification that you subscribed, which really does make my day.

Do you offer paid subscriptions?

I’m just enjoying reading and writing about reading and others reading what I’m writing about what I’m reading. That’s really more than I could ever ask for. However, if you do want to throw some financial support my way, paid subscriptions are available.
